| Pastor Ken was saved in his bedroom in September of 1982 when the Lord visited him and
healed him of a broken back. The instant healing of his back was just the beginning
of the miracle as God saved his soul and filled him with His Holy Spirit the very
same night. No preachers, no church, just Jesus Christ, His power and His blood.
That night was the end of an immoral lifestyle, drug addiction, and the recreating
of a wasted piece of humanity.
He later attended
Pinecrest Bible Training Center in Salisbury Center, New York,
where he met his wife, Nancy, and they were married after graduation in June 1985.
After their honeymoon they moved to Virginia Beach, VA.
In April of 1986 he took his third trip to Jamaica and sincerely thought God
was calling him to the mission field. He was, but it was to a struggling inner
city church in a poor section of Norfolk, VA. He was ordained in August 1986 and
served as Pastor on the Open Door Chapel or Ocean View until April 1995 when God
changed the name of the church to New Life Christian Center.
In the summer of 1983 he ministered in the Ukraine and Russia where he met Rodney
Howard-Browne and received a powerful impartation for a "signs following ministry". Beginning in September 1993 the Lord moved mightily in filling the people with
His Spirit in Pastor Ken's meetings and healing the sick.
In October 1994 the Lord sent Pastors Ken and Nancy to a pastor's conference
hosted by the Airport Vineyard in Toronto, Canada where they have been in a time
of renewal since January 1994. God has used them on the prayer team there for
three different conferences as they were touched in a powerful way. Their lives
have truly been changed from the time of refreshing form the presence of the Lord.
Since then the Lord has used them as instruments of refreshing up and down the
east coast where God's presence has fallen and fountainheads of blessings have
been flowing ever since.
In January of 1995 the Lord spoke to Pastor Ken and his congregation concerning
a new church, a new name, and a new vision. In April of 1995 New Life Christian
Center was birthed.
His dynamic encounter with God has resulted in a powerful evangelistic ministry
with signs following. God has gifted him in leading people into the baptism of
the Holy Ghost. He is an evangelist doing a pastor's work as God is training him
for this last great revival that has already begun.
Pastor Nancy was born in Springfield Massachusetts and lived between there and Cape Cod until her senior year of
High School. During her late teens and twenties Nancy traveled through Mexico,
Europe, and several Easter block countries. Later she worked as a Governess and
a Social Secretary in Washington, D.C., a Ski Tour Guide in New Hamshire, a Bike
Tour Leader in Vermont, and a Caterer on Cape Cod. In 1982 along with a close
friend Nancy rode her bicycle from Vermont to California. It was on this trip
the Jesus Christ intervened in her life and Nancy made Him Lord of all.
Nancy attended Pinecrest Bible Training Center where she met Ken Gerry. They
graduated, and were married in 1985, and began Pastoring The Open Door Chapel
of Ocean View one year later. |
