STOREHOUSEJust as Jesus instructed Peter to feed His sheep, Pastors Rodney and Aretha Hammonds lead the Storehouse, a ministry of NLCC that demonstrates the love of God through meeting practical and spiritual needs of people within the community. Provision comes in the form of food, clothes, and personal hygiene/grooming products. The Storehouse joins forces annually with community partners (Bon Secours, Lombart Inst Co, etc) and distributes Thanksgiving and Christmas food baskets as well as Christmas toys/clothes to needy families. On a monthly basis, this ministry hosts a "Broken Bread Bible Lunch" which provides a hearty bowl of savory soup while reading the Word of God (Bible) sure to satisfy both natural and spiritual hunger. Of course the secret ingredient in the soup and the God's Word is LOVE! The Storehouse also provides a variety of bread and baked goods availabe immediately after every Sunday service.And Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." John 6:35 NKJVIt's often said that giving a person a fish helps for one meal but teaching them to fish helps them feast for a lifetime. As wonderful as weekly, monthly, and seasonal blessings are, it is also the goal of the Storehouse to train and equip people in how to seek God in order to have their needs met daily. KIDS TOWNEKids Towne is a life group ministry geared just for children ages 8 through 13. It is a safe place where kids can experience the love of God corporately, study and understand His word on their level, and build Godly relationships with kids their own age, all while having lots of fun together!!! This ministry meets every Wednesday from 7 - 830pm, inside New Life Christian Center, under the care and supervision of Chris Brady, Rebecca Hammonds, Darlene Harper, and Carrie Parker. A typical meeting includes an enagaging/energetic icebreaker activity, prayer, praise and worship, and a Bible based lesson with discussion questions geared at how to apply it in their lives. NEW HORIZONS STUDENT MINISTRIES New Horizon’s Student Ministry is for young people ages 14 and up. Many college students continue to serve as leaders and mentors in the ministry helping younger students make the correct biblical value choices as they navigate through their school years. The Students meet every Friday night at 730 pm, and have an awesome night of worship, praise, word, vision, and fellowship. Under the Leadership of Donny & Jessica Brezina, this next generation of leaders have opportunities for ministry both at home and abroad. One New Horizons goal is to give every young person a Missions Opportunity before they graduate High School.

Youth Pastors and Worship LeadersPravash and Amber are raising up the next generation of worshippers by serving us in the New Horizon's Student Ministry and New Life Worship Team as pastors. They work with our young people and both preach and teach giving them opportunities to share their faith both at home and abroad. They also head up every aspect of Music, Sound, Video, and Worship Arts, raising up our young people in positions of responsibility to serve at New Life Christian Center. Pravash and Amber were married at NLCC just over 10 years ago and have 4 children.

Benevolence PastorsRodney and Aretha have served at New Life Christian Center ever since Pastors Ken and Nancy first came to Ocean View. While caring for their own 3 children, both Rodney and Aretha serve the church and community in our Storehouse Ministry which distributes food and ministers to the material needs of the community. They preach, teach, and share the lvoe of Jesus on a daily basis and work faithfully and diligently in reaching out to minister to the needs of the greater Ocean View neighborhood.

Exeutive PastorsGlenn and Maureen came to New Life Christian Center nearly 25 years ago and are happily married with 7 children. Glenn and Maureen serve on staff and look after the day to day ministry needs of New Life Christian Center including church administration, counseling, and teaching. They are always at your service to assist you with any questions or ministry needs for you and your family.

Senior PastorsOur Senior Pastors were wed over 25 years ago after graduating from Pinecrest Bible Training Center and have 2 sons. They took a struggling store font church in a poverty stricken neighborhood that had 10 go-go bars, multiple adult bookstores, and was crime ridden in every way. After moving into the neighborhood and faithfully ministering to the poor and the needs of the community, God began to move in miraculous ways. Today, Ocean View leads Norfolk in Community Development; what once was an undesireable place to live has now transformed into a lovely beachside community. YEAH GOD! Both Pastors Ken and Nancy have Doctorate of Divinity Degrees from The International Seminary of Bible Theology.

LIFEGROUPSLife Groups are small gatherings that meet regularly in homes on Wednesday evenings at 7 pm throughout the greater Ocean View Area. This is your opportunity to delve into the Life of New Life Christian Center and build relationships through small group discussions, worship, and fellowship with your friends and neighbors in the community. Life Group usually lasts a little over an hour making time for personal prayer and ministry and so that folks are able to get home at a reasonable hour.

27 16 14 What We BelieveThat the Holy Bible, both Old and New Testaments, is the God-inspired, infallible, and sole authoritative source of Christian doctrine and precept. (II Timothy 3:16, I Peter 1:23, John 17:17) That there is only one true God as revealed in Scriptures, existing eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (John 17:3, 21-23, Genesis 1:26, John 1:1,2) That the creation of man by God was good, but as a result of sin, all mankind is lost and absolutely powerless to save themselves. (Romans 3:23, Genesis 1:28-31) That Jesus Christ, the virgin-born, sinless Son of God, died to take upon Himself the sin of mankind and arose from the dead so that man can he redeemed through faith in Him as personal Savior and Lord. (Matthew 1:18-21, John 3:16) That a spiritual reality is wrought in the heart of a believer in water baptism, identifying him with the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 3:5-6, Acts 2:38) That the baptism with the Holy Ghost is a separate, distinct experience open subsequent to salvation, giving the believer power for witness, life, and service and that this experience, according to scriptural precedent, is accompanied by speaking in tongues. (Acts 1:8, Matthew 3:11) That the believer's life should be one of true holiness and separateness from the world and sin, no longer serving them but serving the Lord with a fervent and pure heart. (II Corinthians 6:17, Ephesians 1:4) That the church universal is comprised of all those regenerated by the indwelling Holy Spirit and through faith in the atoning death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, and that in order to accomplish God's two-fold purpose of world-wide evangelization and maturing of the saints, the universal Church must be expressed as scriptural local churches. (1 Corinthians 12:12-14, Ephesians 4:11-16) In the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit in the local church and individual and collective praise according to spiritual pattern. (1 Corinthians 14:16, James 1:17) In the restoration of the Church of all that the prophets have spoken in Scripture and in the subsequent visual and bodily return of Jesus Christ to earth. (Acts 1:10-11, Revelation 1:7, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18) The promise of eternal life for all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and accept Him as their Savior, and eternal damnation for those who reject Him, and die in their sins. Pastor Ken was saved in his bedroom in September of 1982 when the Lord visited him and healed him of a broken back. The instant healing of his back was just the beginning of the miracle as God saved his soul and filled him with His Holy Spirit the very same night. No preachers, no church, just Jesus Christ, His power and His blood. That night was the end of an immoral lifestyle, drug addiction, and the recreating of a wasted piece of humanity.He later attended Pinecrest Bible Training Center ( in Salisbury Center, New York, where he met his wife, Nancy, and they were married after graduation in June 1985. After their honeymoon they moved to Virginia Beach, VA.In April of 1986 he took his third trip to Jamaica and sincerely thought God was calling him to the mission field. He was, but it was to a struggling inner city church in a poor section of Norfolk, VA. He was ordained in August 1986 and served as Pastor on the Open Door Chapel or Ocean View until April 1995 when God changed the name of the church to New Life Christian Center.In the summer of 1983 he ministered in the Ukraine and Russia where he met Rodney Howard-Browne and received a powerful impartation for a "signs following ministry". Beginning in September 1993 the Lord moved mightily in filling the people with His Spirit in Pastor Ken's meetings and healing the sick.In October 1994 the Lord sent Pastors Ken and Nancy to a pastor's conference hosted by the Airport Vineyard in Toronto, Canada where they have been in a time of renewal since January 1994. God has used them on the prayer team there for three different conferences as they were touched in a powerful way. Their lives have truly been changed from the time of refreshing form the presence of the Lord. Since then the Lord has used them as instruments of refreshing up and down the east coast where God's presence has fallen and fountainheads of blessings have been flowing ever since.In January of 1995 the Lord spoke to Pastor Ken and his congregation concerning a new church, a new name, and a new vision. In April of 1995 New Life Christian Center was birthed.His dynamic encounter with God has resulted in a powerful evangelistic ministry with signs following. God has gifted him in leading people into the baptism of the Holy Ghost. He is an evangelist doing a pastor's work as God is training him for this last great revival that has already begun.Pastor Nancy was born in Springfield Massachusetts and lived between there and Cape Cod until her senior year of High School. During her late teens and twenties Nancy traveled through Mexico, Europe, and several Easter block countries. Later she worked as a Governess and a Social Secretary in Washington, D.C., a Ski Tour Guide in New Hamshire, a Bike Tour Leader in Vermont, and a Caterer on Cape Cod. In 1982 along with a close friend Nancy rode her bicycle from Vermont to California. It was on this trip the Jesus Christ intervened in her life and Nancy made Him Lord of all.Nancy attended Pinecrest Bible Training Center where she met Ken Gerry. They graduated, and were married in 1985, and began Pastoring The Open Door Chapel of Ocean View one year later.
